Son Heung-min, ‘Side-Arnal Killer Instead of Nail’, tries to rank 29th in the ‘North London Derby’ in Europe with 200 goals

Arsenal killer Son Heung-min (Tottenham) will try to score his 200th goal in Europe.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to host Arsenal in the sixth round of the 2023-2024 Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in London, England, on Thursday (June 24). Both teams are unbeaten in their first five games of the season, with four wins and a draw, so this will be a hotly contested matchup.

Tottenham will be looking to the “Arsenal hunter,” as he has been dubbed, to elevate the team this season after being named captain.

Son has been exceptionally strong against the Gunners, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 18 appearances.메이저사이트

This is especially true given Spurs’ recent struggles in the North London derby, with just one win (and four losses) in their last five.

Of course, the pressure is on Spurs. It’s an away game. Spurs have not recorded a win at Arsenal’s home ground, the Emirates Stadium, since November 2010, and will be looking for their first away win against the Gunners in 13 years.

Spurs have been thoroughly outclassed by the Gunners in their last five games, winning one and losing four, excluding friendlies. Last season, they faced Arsenal twice, losing both times. Spurs have not won at Arsenal’s home ground in four games, including three straight defeats.

Add to that Arsenal’s recent form. After winning the Emirates Cup against AS Roma and the FA Community Shield against Manchester City, Arsenal have not lost a game this season.

The Gunners, who like Tottenham are 4-1 in the Premier League, opened their UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage with a 4-0 thrashing of PSV Eindhoven on Nov. 21.

Son Heung-min will be looking to score his 200th goal in Europe.

It’s also a big game for the player himself. Now in his 14th season in Europe, Son has scored 197 goals in his career.

He scored 20 and 29 with Hamburg and Leverkusen, respectively, and has added 148 since joining Tottenham. He needs just three more goals to reach the 200-goal mark in European leagues.

He is also within striking distance of breaking into the top 20 of the Premier League’s all-time goalscorers list. He is currently tied for 30th with Darren Bent on 106 goals and needs one more to move into 29th place alongside Manchester United legend Paul Scholes.

Looking ahead to Tottenham’s starting XI, the Evening Standard lined up with Heung-Soo Song up front. Son Heung-min, James Maddison, and Dejan Kuluczewski in the second line.

The midfield would be Yves Bissouma-Pepe Sarr. The back four was Destiny Udogie, Micky van der Vaan, Christian Romero, and Pedro Foro. The starting goalkeeper is Vicario.

Tottenham had been struggling away from home against Arsenal. However, that could change if the Frenchman performs like he did in the last game.

Therefore, if Son Heung-min is deployed on the flank to support the Frenchman, Spurs could do much more than they expected against Arsenal.

Tottenham have also been pushing for a long-term deal for Son ahead of the Arsenal game, which could give them a boost.

“Tottenham are in talks to extend Son’s contract, which expires in 2025,” 90min reported, adding that the decision is based on the fact that the South Korean has maintained his form well into his 30s and has provided leadership as captain.”

Son Heung-min has been applauded for his selfless captaincy this season, giving 100% to the team. He is the first non-European player to wear the captain’s armband at Tottenham since the club was founded in 1882.
