I need to show my growth and win in the par and stadium”…Director Kang In-kwon and Director Lee Seung-yeop are waiting for a reunion with ‘old teacher’ MOON

NC Dinos manager Kang In-kwon and Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop were waiting for a reunion with their old teacher, Hanwha Eagles manager Kim Kyung-moon.고수익알바

The hot topic before the game was manager Kim Kyung-moon’s return to the pro baseball league. Kim will take the helm of the Hanwha Eagles in the wake of CEO Park Chan-hyuk and manager Choi Won-ho, who voluntarily resigned on April 27, citing poor performance.

Coach Kim Kyung-moon, who held an inauguration ceremony and a press conference at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 3rd, returned to the team through the KT Wiz match in Suwon on the 4th. The result was Hanwha’s 8-2 victory. This will mark Kim’s victory as the head coach for the first time in 2196 days since the match against Hanwha in Daejeon on May 31, 2018.

Manager Kim has deep relations with Kang In-kwon. A catcher when he was an active player, Kang was traded from Hanwha to Doosan ahead of the 2002 season, when Doosan’s battery coach was Kim Kyung-moon. Kim took the helm of Doosan since 2004.

Kang, who ended his career in 2006, started his career as a coach in 2007 under Kim. When Kim took the helm of the then-new NC Dinos in 2011, he also hired Kang as a battery coach.

“Most of them think it’s going to be strict, but he has a very warm side. He keeps in touch with me often. I also have a lot of affection for the players. When I went to Doosan (when I was in active duty), I was in my early 30s, and he made me practice a lot. I had never practiced like that until I turned 30. He told me to practice a lot, but it wasn’t an atmosphere where I could say that I couldn’t do it (laughs). Over time, he texted me warm words and made me understand why I had to practice. He also clearly established what I had to do as an old player. There was also certain strictness when playing games. I’m sure everyone knows, charisma.”

In the meantime, Kang said, “I was greatly influenced by the baseball stadium itself. Besides being seen in front of me, he also took care of small things. I was very impressed by the warmth and things like that. I’m also doing it until now, but I don’t think I’m as good as what coach Kim Kyung-moon is doing.”

As mentioned earlier, Kim Kyung-moon and Kang In-kwon contributed greatly to making NC a strong team after suffering a lot as a founding member.

“There was news that (Coach Kim Kyung-moon) would resign (from Doosan) and (NC) would be established,” coach Kang In-kwon said. “The coach called me and asked me if I would like to join him, so I came,” adding, “I had a hard time (in 2013, when NC made its debut in the first division). There were some difficulties, including the coaches and the players. I lost nine games in a row (in the early April). And after winning one game, I had a long losing streak again. It was so hard then. It was too different from what we had calculated. There was a picture we drew, and in the beginning, we fell straight into consecutive losses and then went back down. I think it was hard and difficult.”

Fortunately, NC showed good performance by ranking seventh, defying everyone’s expectation that it would be the lowest in this season. In 2014, the team proudly started the post season by ranking third. “In the end, it was the power of (Kim Kyung-moon),” Kang said.

As a result of this relationship, director Kang In-kwon immediately contacted him when he heard about Kim Kyung-moon’s appointment. Then, the old teacher was rather worried about his student.

Director Kang In-kwon said, “I called you yesterday (on the 3rd). Coach Kim Kyung-moon was more worried about me than he was appointed. He said, ‘I’ve been in a bad condition lately, I’ve been losing weight again’.”

NC, led by head coach Kang In-kwon, will hold three consecutive weekend games against Hanwha under head coach Kim Kyung-moon in Daejeon from the 7th.

Coach Kang said, “We should have been better (recently)…”A game is a game. Congratulations on your participation and I think there will be something else to show you how much I have improved when I enter the game. That way, I think you will feel more proud of me,” he said.

Doosan’s head coach Lee Seung-yeop also has deep ties with Kim Kyung-moon. When Lee joined the Samsung Lions in 1995, Kim Kyung-moon was serving as Samsung’s battery coach.

In addition, the two Korean players won Korea’s gold medal together at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Lee Seung-yeop was sluggish throughout the tournament, but Kim Kyung-moon, the national team’s coach, consistently showed faith in Lee. Lee then rewarded Kim’s trust by hitting a golden home run in the semifinals against Japan and the final against Cuba.

Looking back, Lee said, “Without him, I wouldn’t have been able to play. Fortunately, the result was good at the end. The coach trusts the players so well. He doesn’t seem to believe me as always (laughs). You have to give trust (with their skills). Even if you don’t say anything, the coach has his own charisma. I love it. It’s been a while since I met him, but it’s so nice to have him on the phone once in a while.”

“I think it’s a great thing,” Lee said of Kim Kyung-moon’s appointment as head coach of the Hanwha Eagles. He sent a congratulatory message. He is the godfather of baseball.
